Perez Wins Monaco Grand Prix After Ferrari Pit Stop Blunder

Red Bull's Sergio Perez took victory at the Monaco Grand Prix after Ferrari made a costly mistake during the pit stop phase of the race.

Carlos Sainz finished second for Ferrari, with Max Verstappen third for Red Bull and Charles Leclerc fourth for Ferrari.

The race was delayed by heavy rain and a crash involving Mick Schumacher, but once it got underway, it was Perez who took the lead from pole-sitter Leclerc.

Ferrari pitted Leclerc for new tires on lap 18, but the team made a mistake and fitted the wrong tires to the car. This cost Leclerc valuable time and allowed Perez to build up a lead.

Sainz also pitted for new tires on lap 19, but he was able to avoid the mistake that Ferrari made with Leclerc's car. This allowed Sainz to close the gap to Perez, but he was unable to catch the Mexican driver.

Verstappen pitted for new tires on lap 22, but he emerged from the pits behind Sainz. This allowed Leclerc to close the gap to Verstappen, but the Dutch driver was able to hold on to third place.

The race was red-flagged on lap 30 due to a crash involving Yuki Tsunoda. The race was restarted on lap 33, and Perez held on to his lead to take the victory.
