Panthers Knock Out Swayman, Take Game 2 vs. Bruins

Boston's Postseason Hopes Dwindle

BOSTON — The Florida Panthers spoiled Jeremy Swayman's brilliant postseason run, knocking him out of Game 2 and securing a 6-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.

Swayman, who has been a standout for the Bruins in the playoffs, stopped 38 shots before being pulled after giving up a goal to Brandon Carlo. The Panthers capitalized on the momentum, scoring four more goals to take a commanding lead in the series.

With the loss, the Bruins' hopes of making a deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs took a major hit. The Panthers, who finished the regular season with the best record in the league, are now one win away from advancing to the third round.

The Bruins, who won the Presidents Trophy in the 2023-24 season, were looking to make a statement in this year's playoffs after a disappointing first-round exit last year. However, their hopes have been dashed by a Panthers team that has been dominant throughout the postseason.

Game 3 of the series will be played in Sunrise, Florida, on Friday night.
