Nikita Zadorov Traded to Vancouver Canucks

Former Flames Defenseman Finds New Home in British Columbia

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Zadorov, a 6'6", 230-pound physical presence on the blue line, provides the Canucks with a much-needed addition to their defensive corps.

Zadorov, 27, has spent the past three seasons with the Flames, recording 11 goals and 33 assists in 184 games. He is known for his physical play and ability to move the puck well. The Russian native has also represented his country at the international level, winning a silver medal at the 2015 World Junior Championships.

Canucks Bolster Defense with Zadorov Acquisition

The Canucks have been looking to add depth to their defense for some time. Zadorov's arrival gives them a top-four defenseman who can provide both physicality and offensive upside. He is expected to slot into the lineup alongside Quinn Hughes and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, forming a formidable defensive trio.
