Haaland kept scoreless by Kazakhstan's five-man defense in Nations League; Italy and Belgium win
Haaland kept quiet in Norway's Nations League draw
Erling Haaland endured a frustrating evening in front of goal as Norway were held to a goalless draw by Kazakhstan in their Nations League opener in Oslo on Saturday.
The Manchester City forward, who has scored 20 goals in 21 Premier League appearances this season, was well-marshaled by Kazakhstan's five-man defense and failed to register a single shot on target.
Haaland's frustration was evident as he was booked for dissent in the second half.
Italy and Belgium claim victories
Elsewhere in the Nations League, Italy got their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over England in Milan.
Giacomo Raspadori scored the only goal of the game in the 68th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
In Brussels, Belgium also claimed a 1-0 win over Poland.
What's next?
Norway will face Serbia in their next Nations League match on Tuesday, while Kazakhstan will take on Azerbaijan.
Italy will travel to Hungary on Tuesday, while Belgium will host Wales.
