Acutis, born in London on May 3, 1991, and died in Monza, Italy, on October 12, 2006, was known for his devotion to the Eucharist, frequent reception of the sacraments, and love for the poor.
In 2020, Pope Francis recognized a first miracle attributed to Acutis' intercession, opening the way for him to be beatified. The second recognized miracle, according to the Vatican, is the healing of a Brazilian boy suffering from a rare pancreatic disease.
Acutis' path to sainthood has been closely followed by young Catholics around the world, who see in him a model of sanctity for the digital age.
